FundABLE
Purpose The FundABLE was created to support governments streamlining the process of identifying potential financiers to guide finance mobilisation for their sustainable infrastructure projects. The tool allows users to store data on historical and upcoming infrastructure projects, and cross-reference projects against available Source of finance using project and sustainability criteria to analyze project readiness and identify opportunities for financing. The tool also facilitate the provision of guidance to governments through a guidance library.
Methodology "Data on infrastructure financiers was collected primarily at the Source of finance-level. In the case where a Source of finance-level data was not available, data was collected at the financier-level. Data was collected primarily through the websites of the respective Source of finance and financiers. The main categories of data collected and used for analysis were:
1. Source of finance information (name, description, website, contact information, proposal guidelines (where available) and Source of finance-specific eligibility criteria.
2. Countries (or regions) of operation,
3. Infrastructure sectors financed,
4. Financing instruments available,
5. Financing criteria required (including general and sustainability criteria),
6. Activities financed, and
7. Additional financing information and requirements.
More information on the data collection methodology can be found in the Methodology tab."
The database was used to create an interactive tool which provides insight into organisations that finance infrastructure projects. FundABLE uses historical financing information, Source of finance-level insights and project-level data to identify potential Source of finances to finance GoSL's pipeline of infrastructure projects.
Tool Navigation The FundABLE tool is modeled after the UNOPS National Infrastructure Financing Strategy (NIFS) framework, which contains the following 4 steps:
A. Map historical infrastructure financing trends
B. Explore the infrastructure financing landscape
C. Evaluate the financing readiness of infrastructure projects
D. Develop strategic financing plan
Each tab in this tool corresponds with a step of the NIFS framework, and is coded accordingly. A brief description of each tab is provided below:
